Holy Monday

Many people believe that Jesus entered the temple and cleaned it of those corrupting it. It was during this event that Jesus said the church would be a house of prayer.

Matthew 21:12-13 says, “And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.”

As you begin this week, focus on your communication with the Lord.
Prayer does not have to be a ritual, or something we do because we are commanded to. Prayer is talking to God, and with everything He has done for us, we should be on our hands and knees in every opportunity we get to talk to Him.
With heartfelt prayer comes patience. The challenging is not only talking to God but also listening to Him. We often find ourselves pushing away answers to prayers because they are not what we want to hear. Through prayer not only comes patience, but also trusting that God has the right answer, even if it is not what we wished for.
God is not going to be screaming answers at us as soon as we say Amen, but it will be us listening closer and closer to what He has to say. So do not focus only on your communication with the Lord but also your listening to Him closely after your communication.
