Today we conclude our series on risktakers in the Bible. I decided to to preach on e morw sermon on this series as I read about the life of Christ and relationsahip He had with Peter. Peter is one who many times struck his foot in his mounth, when it came to serving, but I want us to remember that even in his brash ways Peter was a disciple in many ways we all need to strive to be like.
Risk Taker Part VI: Characteristics of a Risk Taker
We are wrapping up our series on risk takers today as we discuss one more person in was a great risk taker in the early foundations of the church. We find his story in the six and seventh chapter of Acts. Stephen and young man who sacrificed all for the cause of Christ, he was willing to go all the way even to death. A characteristic that many churches today lack when it comes to the Gospel story. Today I ask you to think about each of the attributes that Stephen showed and again see where you stand up.

Today we will be serving communion for those who have asked Jesus Christ into their heart. It is not necessary for you to be a member of Meridian Woods to partake. As we celebrate the Lord ’s Supper and talk about risk takers, let’s think of those early Christian brother and sisters in the faith who suffered for the cause of Christ continuously. Today I want us to think on the risk of taking of the supper in a wrong manner.

Risk Taker Pt III: David
In 1832 a young American was a candidate for the legislature. He lost. In 1834 he was again a candidate and this time he won. In 1847 he went to the United States Congress but served only one term. He was not even renominated by his party. He campaigned for Zachary Taylor for president, hoping to be appointed commissioner of the General Land Office.
