Sermon Notes

Today I want to discuss the single family. This would include the single people, maybe divorced people that have chosen to remain single, maybe those who have lost a spouse or those with children who have now spouse at this time. As we continue to think about TV programs that have these type of families we can list many. One day at a time, Andy Griffin, Family Affair, Courtship of Eddies Father’s, My Two Dad’s, and many others. I want us to look into scripture today to see what the Bible has to say about this life and what promises you can hold to today.

we started a new series on the family. We looked at some dysfunctional families in the Bible and realized what looked dysfunctional to some may not be that bad, but also realized that at times in our lives we are dysfunctional when not serving the Lord. We as believers are all part of the family of God. This week I want us to look at ways of dealing with wayward family members. Again, let’s remember that God has all put us on this earth. So in dealing with a wayward family member we need to extend grace.

As we think back over the years, many of us have watched families of all kinds on TV. We will be comparing the scripture to the way the world says to raise a family to make sure and have the proper foundation straight from word of God.

Last week we looked at the greatest project of all time, when God spoke everything into existence. How thankful we should be today because of this wonderful display of grace. Today we turn our attention just a few chapters down the road and look into what reasons we should do build. I believe this is deeper than a building. Churches, other ministries and nothing should be built in the name of the Lord if it is for the wrong reason.
