Yesterday we celebrated the Fourth of July, and the freedom that we have as America. I listen to one army General call it happy freedom day. We should be very thankful for the freedom that we have today in this country but also the freedom we have in Christ. Today I want to share a few minutes some verses from the scripture that talk about freedom and see what our response needs to be.
- Freedom is be preached.
- Luke 4:17-19 (New International Version) Isaiah 61:1-2
- 17The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, 19to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.

- Galatians 5:13-14

- Galatians 3:22-23
- 22 But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive God’s promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. 23 Before the way of faith in Christ was available to us, we were placed under guard by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until the way of faith was revealed.
