Nehemiah 5:19
Prayer of Blessing

Remember, O my God, all that I have done for these people, and bless me for it.

1 Chronicles 4:10  “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that Thou wouldest bless me indeed,

  • Is it wrong to pray for God to bless you?
    • We must first make the choice to invite God into our life and ask for His blessings.
    • Proverbs 15:8  The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.
  • To bless in the biblical sense means to ask for or to impart supernatural favor.
  • When we ask for God’s blessing, we’re not asking for more of what we could get for ourselves. We’re crying out for the wonderful, unlimited goodness that only God has the power to know about or give us.”

I John 5:14, 15

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
