Outreach team would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work this year on our many endeavors. I think everyone in the church has participated in one or all of the events. I am very proud to be a member of our church.
We are looking forward to continuing to grow the kingdom of God.
Rick Warren in The Purpose Driven Life talks about our mission of The Great Commission. He says that “Prayer is the most important tool for your mission in the world. People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers. The Bible tells us to pray for opportunities to witness, for courage to speak up, for those who will believe, for the rapid spread of the message, and for more workers.”
Some goals that the Outreach team has for the church this year are to…pray for unbelievers, serve them in love and share the good news. We want to encourage each member to find what they are passionate for and use it to share the good new of Jesus Christ. “Whenever you feel apathetic about your mission in the world, spend some time thinking about what Jesus did for you on the cross. If you’ve been afraid to share the Good News with those around you, ask God to fill your heart with His love for them.” I ask each of you to begin praying these prayers regularly. We will also, in the months to come, have some scheduled prayer meetings for all to come.
In December, much of the work of breaking down the barriers is done for us. Please ask your coworkers, neighbors, and family members to come to the Christmas Program on December 19th or 20th. Invite a bunch of kids to breakfast with Santa. Don’t just tell their parents about it, load them up in your car and bring them. One of my favorite things to do is listen to a bunch of little ones in the back seat chatter on the way places.
Please come to Amanda or Julie with questions or ideas. If you have a passion that you need help coming up with ideas on using it to spread the Good News, then let us know. We will help.
God bless
