After a great weekend last week in Westfield, we get back to our series on risk takers. Remember we are going to look into the lives of some people that took some extraordinary risks, by obeying the Lord. Two weeks ago we looked into the live of Abraham briefly and today we are going to look in a passage that is often overlooked in scripture, as matter of fact the book of I Chronicles is one of the least read books of the Bible. But right in the middle of a list of names that most people can’t pronounce we find a person and took and huge risk and we see how God responded in two short verses.
I Chronicles 4”9-10
There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez[a] because his birth had been so painful. 10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.
