“Servant Evangelism is using the power of kindness to penetrate the spiritually darkened hearts of people with the love of God.”
–Steve Sjogren, Changing the World Though Kindness
- It is the kindness of God that makes all the difference.
- “Don’t you know that the kindness of God leads you to repentance.” Rom. 2:4
- “Effective evangelism requires little training. Friendly, openhearted people make the best evangelists.” Steve Sjogren, Conspiracy of Kindness
- This is all doable.
- Doable Evangelism – the sower and the seeds. Sower throws out his seeds onto four types of ground: the shallow, the thorny, the rocky and the good soil. So anybody can put their hand in a bag of seed and spread it… it doesn’t take an expert.
- Our job is to be seed flingers, not seed protectors watching over God’s business as though he had a limited supply. Steve Sjogren, Conspiracy of Kindness
- There is a process in this.
- “I planted, Apollos watered… God gave the harvest.” 1 Cor. 3:6
- Planting, watering, harvest..
- George Hunter and Steve Sjogren have asked “How many touches does it take for a person to come to know Christ in 2010?” And they believe it takes the average American between 15 and 20 significant touches with the Gospel for a person to respond to the Gospel
