Reasons for singing the wondrous story are: Most wondrous story ever told is that Christ died for us. In order to do this He had to leave His home in glory. His death upon the cross of Calvary is the means by which we have redemption from our sins. We have sinned, we are lost. Jesus came to find and save us by the teaching of the gospel message, which we must believe and obey. Jesus can heal the spiritually sick and blind. He frees us from the sins that cause this. On this earth we have our share of darkness but He promises to be with us as we do His will. The River is between life and death, He will take us safely over to heaven with the saints of all ages. This is a meaningful song to sing the praises of God.
