We continue our series on finances and administrative parts of the church. Today I want to share some ways to help with your finances and maybe help you to make sure that you don’t have to be like many people today in the church and say I just don’t have enough for God. Last we learned that you must give to God first. Again today we continue in that sermon.
- Give to God first.
- Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
- ICorinthians 16:2 On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper,…
- Haste makes waste.
- Proverbs 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
- Proverbs 21:20 In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has.
- Invest for the Future
- Proverbs 30:24-25Four things are small on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise: The ants are not a strong people, but they prepare their food in the summer;
- Luke 14:28-30For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it? “Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.
- Jot down what you’re doing.
- Proverbs 27:23-24 Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds,24 for riches don’t last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.
- Know how to be content
- Ecclesiastes 5:10Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.
- Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
- Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.
