As we head into 2009 it is great joy that I can say with confidence that God has great thing in store for the Church at Meridian Woods. I was asked the other day where do I believe that God is heading Meridian Woods. After about twenty minutes I think that person wished they had never asked. I stood here last year at this time and say to the church many individuals its going to be a tough year. I believed that God was going to take us some places that we had not visited in awhile to see how we stood the test. I believe that we have passes the test and God is now going to show us some great blessing in 2009, I can’t wait to see where He takes us. As we moved together in2009 I want to recall a couple of very familiar passages for us to thing on today. As we continue to Connect to the Community through Faith, Hope and Love what will your roll be in 2009?
Esther 4:17 If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”

Do you have an opportunity to make a difference!
- Esther had an opportunity because of her relationship with the king.
- We have an opportunity today because of our relationship to the King.
- II Corinthians 6:2 For He says:“ In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in he day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.3 We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. 4 But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, 5 in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings;
Do you have the ability within you now!
- Esther had the ability because God had blessed her we gifts.
- God has blessed this body with some very special gifts
- I Corinthians 12:7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
Do you have the courage to take a stand?
- Esther was willing to make the greatest sacrifice.
- Christ has called us to make a sacrifice.
- Luke 9:23-25 Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 25 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?
