Today we continue exploring the book of Colossians as we look into chapter 3 of this wonderful book tht Paul wrote the believers at Colosse.  As we turn our attention to chapter 3 I want to share some wonderful encouragement for the believer from this chapter.  Paul wants to encourage the believers in three areas.  First, Paul wants us to seek the things above instead of the evil things in this world.  Secondly, He encourages the believer to be unified and love and finally, he gives some encouragement in the area of relationships.  It is within these words of encouragement that I would like us to look at today for some more encouragement for us today.

Four  Promises of Christ.

  1. We will be revealed in glory with Christ!
    1. 3:4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
    2. How – Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
  2. We will be renewed in knowledge like the one who created us.
    1. 3:10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
    2. How – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
  3. We will receive and inheritance from the Lord
    1. 3:23-24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance;
    2. How – And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, Serve the Lord
  4. We will be repaid for doing wrong
    1. 3:25 For the one who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done.
    2. How – By Lord Jesus
