THE LORD’S PRAYER
The music to this hymn is found in our brown hymnal, “Hymns For The Family of God”, page 440.
The scripture can be found in Matthew 6:9 -13 and Luke 11:1 -4. “Teach us to pray,” the disciples said to Jesus. He answered by teaching them the prayer that we call “The Lord’s Prayer”. As a model of prayer, Christians learn it by heart. (memorize). Through this prayer Jesus invites us to draw near to God as “our Father”. It should be prayed, and sung with much thought, sincere and with much feeling. You are reaching out to God with your heart and soul.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
And the glory, forever…A-men….A…men!
