Greetings friends,
As this year comes to an end I would like to thank everyone again who has helped and prayed for our outreach events this year.
This time of year I usually get a little melancholy after all of the family events start winding down and people start taking down their decorations. Last Sunday I was very excited to hear the sermon on the 4 P’s to keep me on track.
Isaiah 58:9-10
“Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like noonday”
When I am in darkness, but working to do away with oppression, not pointing fingers, talking in love, spending myself on behalf of the hungry and satisfying the needs of the oppressed. There He is, He will lift the darkness…Our neighbors are hungry for a Savior, we need to tell them about HIM.
During my pondering and prayer time I decided that I would like to make a goal to have an outreach event in the neighborhood of each family in the church. Things such as candy handouts, snow shoveling, caroling at Christmas time, and hopefully some big projects too. Pastor Mark gave me a good website that has lots of ideas that I will be going over at the first outreach meeting January 10th after church. The planning has already began. Next, we will be putting it in action.
Please come to me or Julie with ideas or if you would like to be a part of the team, but just like last year we will be getting everyone involved.
