John 15:9-17 9“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
2 John 1:6 6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
John 14:15-17 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
In the bible Jesus calls us his friend, he tells us he loves us and he asks us to love one another. One of the greatest acts of love that we see in the world today is someone sacrificing themselves for the life of another. We get tearful and are in awe of how amazing these people are. If this week you do a random act of kindness, get involved in someone’s life and show them the love of Christ you could plant a seed that could grow into their salvation. You could be a part in saving their eternal life. Sacrificing a few moments of your time could help open their heart for Jesus and thus helping to Save their life from an eternity in hell.
He commands us to love others as he has loved us. What is your gift? What do you like to do? Use your talents, likes, and dislikes to be a contagious Christian.
This year we are going to have four “Friend Sundays”. These days are for you to invite you unsaved, unchurched friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family. We will have a meal together after the church service. Please plan on attending. The first Sunday is March13th. Please start planting seeds in people now.
Tell the Outreach team how we can help you. We would like to help you use your gifts to be obedient and love others.
