Today we continue are serie3s on the different kinds of ways that we can share the Good News. The first way was them about the Power of God, second week we looked at relationships and last week we studied servant evangelism. This week I want us to go to a very familiar book of the Bible to look at a story that is sometimes overlooked and see what this fourth approach is all about.
John 3:
1 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
- So people just ask the question
- Jesus didn’t speak in a parable or do a miracle.
- He just spoke the truth
- You must be born again. V7
- You must be born again
- They wouldn’t believe anything V 12
- If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
- God Sent His Son V16
- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
- Jesus came to save V17B
- but that the world through Him might be saved.
- Believers are no longer condemned V18A
- He who believes in Him is not condemned;
- People like evil things V19
- loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
- You must be born again. V7
