From Matthew 5:8 in The Message. “You’re blessed when when you get your inside world — your mind and heart — put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.”
Our ability to perceive God’s presence in the world around us is inextricably linked to the inner state of our hearts. Just as the famous Russian cosmonauts who declared they “couldn’t see God” in outer space, we can blindly can believe that the attitude of our hearts has no substantial effect on our sensitivity to God’s presence. Ask God to expose to you the true state of your heart and mind as a leader. Confess those issues of impurity to Him and to others, and then prepare yourself for a fresh encounter with God.
Lord, I yield my mind and my heart to your purifying work, that I may see You today.
