I Corinthians 6:19-20

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

Church Body

  • The Church is the Body of Christ
    • Ephesians 5:23-24
      • Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. As the church submits to Christ,
  • The Church is one,  yet Individuals
    • Romans 12:4-5
      • For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
    • 1 Corinthians 12:12
      • For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
  • The Church body is to be a caring and loving body.
    • 1 Corinthians 12:25-26
      • So that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
